God is the greatest Giver of all. He gave His one and only Son so that we might be
saved (John 3:16). When we give, we reflect the generous and sacrificial heart of Jesus. “For you know the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ, that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that you through His poverty might become rich.”
— 2 Corinthians 8:9. Our giving is a response—not an attempt to earn God’s favor, but a grateful offering because we already have it through Christ.
We live in a world filled with opportunities to give: to relief organizations, medical funds, environmental causes, and even at the grocery store checkout, where we’re often asked to “round up” to support a cause. While many of these efforts can do real good, they ultimately invest in things that are temporary. But when we give to the church—the Body of Christ—we are investing in something eternal. The gospel transforms hearts, saves souls, and builds the Kingdom of God, which will never fade or fail. “Do not store up for yourselves treasures on earth... but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven... for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.” — Matthew 6:19–21. Giving to the church is not about charity—it’s about eternity.
If you’re not yet a believer or new to church, know this: God’s grace is a free gift—you
can’t buy it, earn it, or donate toward it. Salvation comes by grace alone, through faith in Christ alone (Ephesians 2:8–9). We give not to get something from God, but because God has already given us
everything in Jesus.
